Who We Are


 Bob and Ginnie Riley have lived in Laona, Wisconsin since 2001.  Bob worked for the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest for 28 years when he retired as a Computer Specialist in 2005.  Ginnie has been employed as a Teacher at Blackwell Job Corps for the US Forest Service since 2001. 

1998 was the year Bob began to change his diet for health reasons.  In the search for something lower carb Bob used his hobbies of cooking and using a smoker to create some snacks.  After experimenting with different ingredient and woods for smoke, developed a process to make the current custom smoked RILEY Smoke Haus Snack Mix.  Along the way, our most trusted critics and fans have been our family, especially our grandchildren.  One of their favorite snacks is “Papa’s” Snack Mix! The snack mix contains: oat bran sesame sticks, almonds, pecans, Cajun corn sticks, craisins, and Bob’s own smoked sea salt.  As Bob describes it:  crunchy, smoky, spicy, salty, and slightly sweet snack mix. 


The Rileys attended a session for Entrepreneurs and were later informed of the Woodland Kitchen in Aurora, Wisconsin.  It has been a business in the making since then.  The Rileys have been members since November 2011, grateful for the help with, labeling, marketing, and processing in the health certified kitchen.
